1. Ratnagiri Gas and Power Pvt Ltd - RGPPL - Full name
2. Location :- No presence of Breakwater - Docking of Tanker ships in Mansoon Impossible.
3. Fuel - NG
4. Stake Holders - GAIL NTPC and Government + Promoter PEtronet
Enron was the initial promoter and my earstwhile firm Punj Lloyd was a major contractor.......and is currently looking after maintainance of the same......Atul Punj has his mind at it......they got the simmilar project in Indonesia......
Now, what are the options for RGPPL ...............
Should they build up for new Storage terminals..........or should they employe costly docking arrangements...........?????????

Visit to Chittorgarh, Kota and Bundi
I first have a chance to visit Chittorgarh on a farewell meet of Mr. Sunil Malhotra ( Outgoing RM and an alum of my Engineering College - REC Kurukshetra). Capt. Sanjay kumar is another alum of my college in the same officer. He is sales officer for Udaipur at that time. He got a reassignment as OSD (officer on Special Duty). THere is a lot of surpurise element to this posting of his.
Well, the party was organised in a very elegant manner by then sales officer of Kota Mr. Vineet Pohani. A very sharp guy, who really scared me with the descriptions of assigments, which really had the blues out of me.
Mr. Singhal seems like a tough boss, with very little hairs. I found a smuggness in the parties of HPCL and the same was here. Same old late nighters...
Well the most important thing was I had a chance to visit a lot of Highway outlets and the typical issues related to fuel retailing.
One outlet was bypassed by the highway and Mr. Singhal told me that I have to look for solutions to revive this particular outlet.
The greeener in Kota and Bundi really surpurised me - RAJASTHAN IS NOT THAT DRY AS I WAS EXPECTING.
Most of the dealer were equivalent to same old age baniyas. Then we visited to Rajasthan - MP border at Place called Mandsore. This particular stretch has about 30 outlets of the industry in a stretch of 14 kms. Of these 2 were Reliance, standing tall and with evident claims of highest sales in the stretch, towering to 100 Kl per day.
All this really pushed up my aderaline. Reliance has really made the case interesting for us and yes Challengign as well.

New Colleagues in a new Company

1. Bikram- Nice Bihari with a very good flare for analysis.
2. vaibhav - a frill free person.
well 1 more person i met was Jitender Singh.......a strange sort of person, bit of overconfidence and serious person .......God! I am going to Udaipur with this nerd......
Uhhhh.........rest all is fine ......stay and all is cool.........
visited Pune with friends today .....MG road, Ridhi Sidhi park

Joined HPCL
I joined Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd. today. There have been a lot of trade offs with me.
I am gaining
1. Brand Name of HPCL-F500 PSU
2. Profile of Area Officer - Really dynamic profile as people have told me ( Albiet I was expecting Refineries placement, given my experience with CPCL - SRU & VBU)
At the same time I am loosing a lot of things
1. My cool job at BEL- Development and Engineering at a heavenly cool location of Kotdwara ( Really heaven for a nature lover and trekker like me)
2. My preperations - I had already cleared the written exams of IES (Indian Engineering Services for Mechanical Engineering). I was confident that I will get the Railways Cadre in next attempt.
3. My ONGC Exam - I have shifteed my ONGC exam to Mumbai from Delhi. But alas, the date is today itself.
4. My chances of making difference in my family businesss. - Once, i am away i will move away from the initiatives which i have taken at my family business.
So, its a lot of gives and takes for me .....................
But, I came with my decision to join HPCL with a lot of convictions .................GOD HAVE YOUR GRACE ON THIS INNOCENT CHILD OF YOURS......
